Our planned snorkeling excursion to Buck Island was cancelled due to wind, rough water and cloudy conditions. We were already in the car but without a plan. We took a chance and headed to West End since we had heard Rainbow Beach was someplace we needed to visit before leaving. There was no wind, the sea was calm and only a couple dozen people on the beach. Talked to the guys at WEWS and 5 minutes later we had an umbrella and 2 chairs. Not much to see snorkeling but calm water was great for the kids, ages 2 and 7. Later we rented 2 jet skis and little man told mommy, "Go faster, don't let daddy pass us". Well baby sister was not crazy about "the green boat" but we passed them anyhow and she still says "TJ, blue boat." The volleyball court is a little rocky but in good shape. Quality of play was a miss but hey, it is a pick up game on vacation. The beach is nice, WEWS people were terrific and later we had dinner at Rhythms. We turned a disappointing morning into a terrific afternoon. Thanks WEWS!!

We did the Jet Ski Adrenaline Tour. It was probably the most fun I've ever had on the ocean. HIGHLY recommend this! Scott and Brian are quite simply the friendliest guys you've ever encountered. They will work with you if it's your first time and set your mind at ease. Don't want the extreme or are just a beginner, just rent a regular jet ski--trust me, you'll want to do more!

Great place to rent jet skis, kayaks, snorkel gear etc. They even have a flyboard! If you don't like to be active they rent nice lounge chairs and umbrellas. The staff is so polite!

We spent about 5 hours at Rainbow Beach and rented 2 lounge chairs ($10/each) and an umbrella ($10). Nick was awesome in setting the stuff up for us. Did some snorkeling. Didn't see a lot of fish. They have Jetskis and you can Flyboard (I plan to try this next year). Other games, etc. are available on the beach. Met Scott, one of the owners. Great guy and an expert on flyboarding. Rainbow Beach is a great place to spend the day and enjoy what West End Water Sports provide.
